Job Summary:

The Support Staff employee has the responsibility to setup for internal and external events at the Riley Center. He or she is also responsible for the custodial needs and cleanliness of the public areas of the Riley Center (e.g., lobby areas, elevators, banquet areas, offices, and conference rooms). This position is labor-intensive. Applicants should have a flexible schedule being able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays up to 28 hours per week. This position will be under the supervision of the Director of the Offices of Events Management.

  • Responsible for setting up nontechnical equipment and furniture for events hosted at the Seminary

  • Maintaining a thorough inventory of all event supplies, relevant storage areas, and distributing equipment, furniture, and décor to optimize event preparation efficiency

  • Responsible to keep the following areas clean and tidy: lobby areas, elevators, banquet areas, offices, and conference rooms

  • Articulate, maintain, and facilitate the highest standards of service and hospitality

  • Comply with all safety, security, and cleanliness policies in accordance with Riley Center standards

  • Partner with other OEM managers and staff to accomplish OEM-wide initiatives

  • Perform other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility

Qualifications / Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience in setting up for events not required but helpful

  • Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

Supervision:

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

  • Will report to the Event Management Supervisor and Riley Center General Manager.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical able to sit and stand for long periods of time

  • Able to attend meetings on site

  • Able to bend and/or stoop

  • Able to climb and lift up to 50-100 pounds to perform tasks that may be assigned in the course of operations

  • Must be able to carry up to 50-100 pounds of parts and equipment

  • Must be able to perform overhead reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, and kneeling

  • Must be able to climb ladders

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
