It is expected that conduct becoming a follower of Jesus will be portrayed in the community.

Position Summary:

Responsible for all portions of interior and exterior carpentry.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Sees that the work is done according to applicable codes.
  2. Assists in the completion of interior and exterior framing, dry wall, windows, doors, flooring, roofing, and siding work.
  3. Assists in the completion of campus building modifications according to drawings made by engineers and/or other applicable plans.
  4. Performs work with the least possible damage to existing buildings and their contents.
  5. Verifies that work is functional and in good working order before declaring it complete.
  6. Responds to service calls.
  7. Sees that trucks are stocked with frequently used parts.
  8. Sees that job site is kept clean and safe.
  9. Seeks to learn and improve proper techniques and skills.
  10. If assigned, instructs co-workers in the proper techniques and skills to be followed.
  11. Special assignments as given by the supervisor or seminary administration.


Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with common power and hand tools used in carpentry.
  • Possess basic carpentry techniques as a minimum.
  • A natural curiosity, great problem solving skills, good mechanical aptitude, a willingness to get dirty.
  • Naturally exhibit a servantís heart with a positive and encouraging attitude.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to relate well to people.

Physical Requirements:

  •  Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds of parts and equipment.  
  •  Must be able to perform occasional overhead reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, and kneeling. 
  •  Must be able to work in crawlspaces and attics from time to time.  
  •  Must be able to climb ladders.  
  •  Must be able to withstand the heat and cold of the north Texas climate.

Driving Requirements:

An acceptable driving record with a valid U.S. Driverís license is preferred, but not required.
