This position will oversee the design, programming, integration, and maintenance of essential systems, web content, new applications, etc. at Southwestern. The position supervises the Design and Development team.


  •  Create and maintain operational systems to proactively sustain applications, web content, etc. that fall under the purview of Design and Development
  •  Create and maintain operational systems and resoureces to support Southwestern users of core applications, etc.
  •  Communicate with Southwestern users as needed regarding necessary training, system updates, or revised processes
  •  Supervise the Design and Development team
  •  Delegate responsibility for new projects and maintenance to team members according to skill level and work load
  •  On occasion, serve as a liaison between the Director of Campus Technology and other departments as it pertains to new projects or applications and web content under the purview of Design and Development
  •  Implement directives from the Director of Campus Technology and the departmental direction established in conjunction with the Director of Campus Technology
  •  Manage the need for departmental expenditures within budgeted limitations
  •  Regular on the job attendance and timeliness
  • In conjunction with the Director of Campus Technology and relevant stakeholders, assess, propose, develop and implement new solutions that may enhance the Southwestern user experience
  • Monitor the integration of new applications and the need for updating and upgrading existing solutions
  • Coordinate with the Campus Technology Project Manager and other institutional departments on special projects


The person in this position should have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. A College degree is prefered. Two years of management experience and two years of experience working in either a technology services or higher education context is preferred. MCSD or Oracle certification is a plus. Experience in project management is a plus.

  •  Willingness to gain proficiency in additional languages, etc. as needed to support SWBTS systems and implement new projects

This position supervises the maintenance and support of core web and software applications

This position supervises any aspects of new projects that require development

  •  Physical activity includes, but is not limited to: Ability to perform manual tasks, reaching above shoulders and reaching waist to shoulders, bending, stooping, performing repetitive motions, standing, and operating at a workstation for long durations of time.
