Position Summary

Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning in commercial and residential settings.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains pumps, air handlers, compressors, boilers, chillers and other equipment in campus buildings.
  • Maintains proper water chemistry in campus heating and cooling systems, if assigned.
  • Operates equipment as required to maintain proper building temperatures.
  • Designs, installs, and maintains pneumatic and direct digital controls.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment requiring periodic servicing.
  • Responds to HVAC service calls.
  • Installs and maintains HVAC equipment as a part of residential remodeling or construction.
  • Regular on the job attendance and timeliness.

Non Essential Functions

  • May coordinate with outside contractors, and communicate and coordinate with inspectors on permitted jobs.
  • Provides training to student workers.
  • Special assignments as given by the HVAC Supervisor or Seminary Administration.

2-5 years of job-related experience

Driving Requirement

Must have an acceptable driving record

Other Job Requirements or Preferences

Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of residential and commercial HVAC. Must have good understanding of the interaction of various mechanical systems with other building systems. HVAC license highly preferred. Must possess refrigerant recovery license. Must have good communication skills and be able to relate well to people.

Computer Skill Specialized

Ability to use and learn office productivity software, and vendor systems.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds of parts and equipment. Must be able to perform occasional overhead reaching and bending.   Must be able to work in crawlspaces and attics from time to time. Must be able to climb ladders.
